If i Tunes can't even detect your i OS device, please refer to this guide of i Tunes detection. If the syncing now works but no file like songs, apps, music or movies is transferring to your i OS device, please follow these steps. Go the “Summary” tab, check if “Manually manage music and videos” is enabled or not, if it is then try toggling it off and on again then manually drag a song to your i OS device to force manual syncin. Look under the “Music”, “Movies”, “Apps”, “TV Shows” or respective tabs and be sure that “Sync Music”, “Sync Movies” etc is checked and enabled. Try checking and unchecking those boxes, then hit the “Sync” button again. Pull down the “Store” menu and choose “Deauthorize This Computer” 3. Then restore the i Phone by using the backup you just created.
If you install the newest i Tunes and the syncing is still fails. Now go back to the Store menu and choose “Authorize This Computer” 4. Reset & Restore will erase all the data on your device, so you need to backup your files first. Note: Resetting and restoring is the last troubleshooting step you should take yourself, and if things still are not working properly then go ahead and contact the official Apple support line or visit a Genius Bar to get things sorted out.
Before you start the download, connect your device to a power source so that the battery doesn’t drain during the update process.
It can take anywhere from a few mins to an hour for the update to download and install, depending on how Apple’s servers are handling the load and your internet connection.
Once that telltale red dot shows up on your device's Settings app, you're ready for i OS 10.
